Shown above is the bus that Jack Portas (Ken's Grandfather) used to move kids from out towards Tofield into the Fultonvale and East Edmonton area.The picture is dated 1940.We were told it was the first or second bus in the Edmonton area.He later owned a regular yellow bus as we know them now and I can remember riding with him after the war and staying in a little room in an old garage out toward Ministik to keep the bus warm and to start the early morning pickup of school children.
